May is the month of New on Huntik.com because you can play with the new Huntik trading card game booster set, Legendary Saga, on May 23 at your local Sneak Preview event. Sneak Previews are going to be held around the globe, and they are the only way to collect and play with the newest Seekers, Titans, and missions before Legendary Saga can be found in stores.
Legendary hero cards are new in Legendary Saga. This is Behemoth, the Legendary Titan of Body.

Behemoth’s 7 ATK is one of the highest in the game, and it’s paired with a respectable 4 DEF. His Earthshaker power makes it so he can’t be KO’d when starting a combat. The Evil major hero Gar-Ghoul had the same power, but only had 4 ATK and 3 DEF. Behemoth’s 4 point upgrade over Gar-Ghoul makes it much more threatening, and Behemoth is also unblockable on top of that! Your opponent won’t be able to block Behemoth off from a clutch zone with a throwaway minor hero. Behemoth can step over a lone defender and start a combat in zone with 2 enemy heroes—and probably take them both down—with no risk to himself. If the opponent doesn’t have a good action card up their sleeve, they’ll have to come back and start a fight with your Behemoth in the same round, or risk taking another beating from Earthshaker in the next round.
Behemoth is clearly a powerful fighter and a strong card to have on your side, but how do you play a legendary hero card?
Legendary heroes are not Good or Evil; they have a yellow card frame and can be used with a deck from either side. I say “with a deck” because these heroes don’t go into your deck at all. You start the game with them set aside in your own legendary hero pile. You can put them on the map from here only by using an amulet card.

You play with amulet cards in your deck, and can play them on your turns just like a free action card. Amulets also have a yellow card frame, so you can put them in a deck with Good cards or Evil cards.
In Legendary Saga, there are four amulet cards, each matching a different legendary Titan. The amulet card puts the matching legendary hero card onto the map in your zone 1. If the legendary hero is KO’d or eliminated, it goes back into your legendary hero pile instead of your discard pile.
An amulet starts with the text “Play this card instead of a major hero this round.” This means you can play an amulet card as your one major hero for a round. You can’t play an amulet and Caliban in the same round, for example, unless you use a power like LeBlanche’s Bring the Calvary that lets you play an additional major hero. Legendary heroes are stronger than major heroes, so it’s okay to play an amulet instead of a major hero.
The other cost of using a legendary amulet is that your opponent gets to draw a card. Getting to control a legendary hero is worth this cost, because your legendary hero can easily drain your opponent of multiple cards to try and deal with it. If you don’t like your opponent getting to draw extra cards, there are ways around this. Check out this new card that’s also from Legendary Saga: Dante Vale, Bold Explorer.
Dante Vale has the power “If you play the Amulet of Behemoth, your opponent doesn’t draw a card.” Dante is Behemoth’s master in the television series, and they make a great pair in the card game too. If you have this Dante on the map when you play the Amulet of Behemoth, your opponent misses out on that free card and you get a giant Titan ready to stomp the enemy. Dante is a major hero, so you’ll need to play him in a round before you want to use your amulet.
Dante’s Dragonfist power is strong, but be careful to not move him too far forward until you get a chance to play the Amulet of Behemoth, because you don’t want to lose him until after that.
The “Bold Explorer” in Dante Vale’s card name is also a great asset to him, and you can learn why by coming back to www.huntik.com and reading the new Legendary Saga previews that will be going on for the next three weeks. These lead up to the Legendary Saga sneak preview event on May 23, where you can play with the new cards before you can find them in stores. Don’t miss this chance to get powerful the Legendary Titans first. If you’re not already a player, the Sneak Preview is a great place to learn about the Huntik trading card game and walk away with your first cards.
