On May 23, 2009, hobby stores will be holding Sneak Preview events for the first booster expansion for the Huntik Trading Card Game, called Legendary Saga. Have questions about the Sneak Preview? Want to know what a Sneak Preview is? You’ve come to the right place, Seekers!

What is a Sneak Preview?

Huntik TCG Sneak Previews are events where Huntik TCG fans can all gather in one location and be the very first players to open booster packs of the new cards from Legendary Saga. Are you looking for some powerful new Titans to add to your deck? Get them first at the Sneak Preview! Maybe your deck can use a new action or two? The Sneak Preview is an awesome place to get those, also. Even if your deck is already good at completing the missions that were in the first set, Secrets and Seekers, you’re probably looking for some new challenges to test your Seeker skills. Legendary Saga has new, never-before-seen missions just waiting for brave Seekers to attempt them.

How does it work?

First, scroll down for a list of locations that are holding a Huntik Legendary Saga Sneak Preview. New locations will be added as the event gets closer, so be sure to check back here often. Look for the starting time of the location nearest you. Show up at the store at that time or a little earlier to start the fun. Your entry fee into the tournament will get you five booster packs of Legendary Saga and a Sneak Preview promo card. Take the five boosters you get, open those packs and make a Huntik TCG deck using only the cards from those packs. You won’t need any mission or feature cards you get for your Sneak Preview deck, so you can just put those off to the side and save them for your collection.

 

Do I have to choose between a Good deck or an Evil deck?

Usually when you play Huntik, you would make a Good deck or an Evil deck. You would only be able to use major and minor heroes plus actions that are either only Good or only Evil. One of the most fun things about the Huntik Sneak Preview is that it’s one of the rare times you’ll get to combine both Good and Evil in your deck. You’ll be building a deck that has at least 25 cards in it. Did you get really good Evil heroes but some powerful Good actions? You’re in luck! You won’t have to choose to play Good or Evil. At the Sneak Preview, you can put them all in your deck and use both the powers of Good and Evil to complete the mission (or stop your opponent from completing it)! As long as your deck has 25 cards or more, you can play any heroes or actions that you get from your five booster packs. Remember that you can only use cards from your booster packs. That means that you can’t trade cards with other Huntik fans until you’re done playing, and you can’t use any cards that you already had in your deck.

What mission will we be trying to complete? And what is this Sneak Preview Promo Card you are talking about?

When you enter the Sneak Preview event, you’ll get a special Sneak Preview promo card. This promo card is a special, limited-edition version of one of the missions from Legendary Saga. The mission is called The Perfect Foe and comes with a feature obstacle called Mirror Image. What’s so special about this card? A few things. First of all, instead of two cards (one for the mission and one for the obstacle), you’ll only need one card. That’s because The Perfect Foe is printed on one side of the card and Mirror Image is printed on the other side—it’s the first ever double-sided Huntik card! Also, the Mirror Image side of the card is foil, so it will stand out from the Mirror Image card that you can get in the regular booster set. This shiny card will prove to your friends that you were at the Legendary Saga Sneak Preview!

This promo card is also the mission that you will be trying to complete at the Sneak Preview. While you are building your deck, take a look at the objectives that The Perfect Foe will require you to complete, and make sure to read Mirror Image so you know what it does, too. When you are deciding what cards from your five booster packs to put into your deck, try to pick cards that will help you complete the mission. Don’t forget to add some cards that will help you defend against it, also, because you won’t always be the lead player. We’ll be taking a closer look at The Perfect Foe and Mirror Image in one of the upcoming card previews leading up to May 23, but here’s a first look of the foil Mirror Image obstacle card you’ll get.   Hmmm… I wonder what kind of mission would go with this…
